Dear Sir,
RE: CLEARING OF THE WATER HYACINTH ON THE PAN LAKE
I wish to thank you for having cleared the Pan Lake of the overgrowth which initially covered it to the extent that many people did not know that beneath there was water. The cool breeze which greets one as he gets in close vicinity to the water body is good. And hopefully, the Lake can be exploited for fishing among other purposes.
The major purpose that I have written to you, is to put to your attention the Water Hyacinth which seems to be multiplying at a fast rate on top of this water body. You are aware that it was not an easy task clearing Lake Victoria of this vegetation; it should therefore not be given another opportunity to multiply on another water body. Hopefully, you will address this matter given that it is urgent.
I thank you.
Yours truly,
William Kiwanuka

Clearance of a weed like water hyacinth usually needs to be done repeatedly. Fortunately, this weed can be cleared at a profit or at least with an offset against its cost. This is all biomass. It can be made into fuel in several ways. Daily new products and suppliers for water hyacinth products are advertised on alibaba.com . This nasty weed is valuable stuff. Clearance of these weeds is also the best way to drive back the desert. They are dessication and siltation machines and are destroying your continent.
