WHAT LOGIC WHEN SO- CALLED HEROES ARE TURNED TO LOOTERS
Sorry to say, Uganda did not deserve the Museveni led 5 year liberation war. The country would be miles if only the economic setting of the time had been left. Uganda was having poles of growth in all the regions unlike to day. We did not know that we were to get a group of people who were bound to loot the country to the level they have. The NRM is simply a shame to Uganda. How on earth can corruption be left to flourish the way it is? How can we have a few people hide their ill gotten riches in other people's names. NRM is a shame to Uganda. It is only prayers that can change things otherwise there is nothing Godly with the NRM leadership.

Uganda National Heroes Day honors all those who sacrificed themselves to better the lives of the Ugandan people. Unfortunately, the holiday is one of the most divisive days in the Ugandan year. What constitutes a hero, and who specifically should be honored, are matters of debate in the country. Many of the heroes officially recognized by the government are fallen soldiers who died during Uganda’s civil war in the 1980s. But the scars of that war, and the memories of crimes committed by both sides against the Ugandan people, are still in evidence today. There is no widespread agreement as to which of that war’s fallen should be honored.
On Today’s Heroes Day the government has invited traditional, religious and opposition political party leaders to attend this year’s Heroes’ day celebration on Thursday June 9th. Some of the traditional leaders in Uganda include the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
The Heroes Day celebration have been organised in Lwengo district, according to Gen. Elly Tumwine.
Veterans are to receive medals such as Kabalega among others. He says that the Heroes Day is celebrated in honour of men and women who contributed to Uganda’s liberation struggles.
Lwengo was chosen to host this year’s Heroes Day celebrations because it was a burial ground for some of the former National Resistance Army (NRA) fighters.
Heroes to be remembered are Maj. Mutumba, Major Salim Saleh, Dr. Lukwiya among others.
Medals to be awarded are Nalubale Medals, Luwero Triangle Medal, and Damul Medals.
