HAPPY BUGANDA 50th INDEPENDENCE JUBILEE - 8th oCTOBER 2012

Today, 8th October 2012 marks 50 years of Buganda’s Independence. There is need to thank God for the 50 years since 8th October 1962 when Buganda got back its Land which had been held in Trust by the Colonial Government. It is gratifying that much as Uganda is yet to get the much cherished Federal Governance, the Buganda Government under His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has been able to identify means of generating income out of which a number of development initiatives are being implemented.

One of the achievements of Kabaka Mutebi II’s time is the Muganzirwaza building which is to be officially opened on Friday, 12th October 2012. We also thank God for the voluntary contributions being made by people of all walks of life, which resources have enabled a number of children not only Baganda to get their studies funded. Credit also goes to a number of schools that are accommodating students for studies under bursary arrangements. Other innovations include free seedlings, free medical treatment, mobilization under self help initiatives just to mention a few. The CBS Radio has also done much in the education of the public as well as getting the right message to the people and timely. The prayer is that Buganda keeps the course for more developments to be realized. God bless Buganda, God bless our King. William Kituuka Kiwanuka
