THIS IS AN APPEAL TO CHAIRMAN BWANIKA OF WAKISO TO HAVE SOME OF THE REVENUE FROM THE ILLEGAL ROAD TOLLS TO HELP ROAD WORKS
It is sad that as Buganda celebrated its 49th Independence anniversary on 8th October 2011, the people of Gayaza village (Gayaza – Lutaba) in Ssisa sub-county were in a terrible situation which will continue on until the district gets its road units to help out the situation. It is sad what I suffered and witnessed. Much as some of these roads are sub-county roads, it is the district that has the road making equipment that can work on these roads. The last time I travelled from Kitende to Sekiwunga, I could not imagine the state of the road from the top of Sekiwunga towards Ssisa sub-county headquarters. It is at this juncture that I wish to call upon the common sense of those Ugandans who keep agitating for new districts simply to be able to eat big as the areas impoverish on to give us a break. Let us be reasonable and genuinely work to see our areas develop instead of exposing our selfish interests for motives which impoverish the people the more.
