HON JOHN ODIT'S DEATH IS SAD

Former Erute North member of Parliament and Uganda Peoples Congress strongman John Odit is dead. Odit who represented Erute North Constituency, Lira District in the 6th, 7th and 8th Parliament died Friday at Mulago Hospital.
According to Ajuri County MP, Mr Hamson Obua a friend to the deceased, Odit who has battled a stroke at Kampala International Hospital for four months. He was later hospitalised at Mulago Hospital where he died.
Odit chaired the Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises committee which handled the infamous Tamangalo and National Social Security Services land scandal among others.
He previously chaired the Agriculture Committee. He shortly served as the Secretary General of UPC before he fell out with the Olara Otunnu administration.
The body, according to relatives and friends, is still at Mulago Hospital.
