THE KATIKIIRO OF BUGANDA IN HIS 2nd TERM HAS THE CHALLENGE TO SEE THAT THE PEOPLE’S LOVE FOR KABAKA AND THE INSTITUTION IS HARNESSED INTO DEVELOPMENT

The Administration at Mengo has one big advantage which when harnessed is a big driving force to see people mobilized for development, this is the love for their King and the readiness to do what he preaches. This is a very good starting point to see people who are locked up into poverty slowly but steadily get out of that unfortunate state of affairs. Buganda has the potential to build a powerful social infrastructure that can reach the people and mobilize them for better production. This however calls for organizing the marketing infrastructure of whatever can be produced. The kingdom’s recognition of the role technical education can play in empowerment is in the right direction.

FELLOW OLD BOYS OF SMACK I HAVE FAILED TO GET CLEARANCE TO BE ABLE TO REPORT ABOUT KABAKAS 57th BIRTHDAY AT THE SCHOOL

It is sad, but true that my efforts to be able to report the events at St. Mary’s College Kisubi during the 57th Birthday of His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II have flopped. The security detail is such that one without a card has simply to forget. I was at SMACK 75 Road by 7.00am and below is the image I took shortly after.

I was also able to take some other few photos as are seen below. The Police later caught up with me. I tried to explain to them who I am, but they told me that the instructions they were implementing were such that all the guests must have invitation cards. My last resort was to send an sms to Brother Bukenya, unfortunately, he was not picking my phone. I resorted to an sms, however, it is 8.36am and I have not had a response from Brother Bukenya.






I am most grateful to the support by Dr. George Herman Kkolokolo who has always sacrificed to see my works supported, and many times he has made valuable contribution. Thank you so much Doctor for the big heart for your school.

On the occasion of celebrating His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s Birthday at St. Mary’s College Kisubi, Kisubi Catholic Parish is most grateful to the Kingdom of Buganda for the 41/2 square miles of land donated, which is the basis of developments which range from academic and vocational establishments including a University, to a Hospital in the name of Kisubi Hospital not forgetting Marianum Press, the Gogonya Sisters, the Brothers of Christian Instruction and Kisubi Seminary.
Your Highness, Kisubi Parish is committed to putting the land as donated to good use for the development of Buganda and Uganda at large.

I MAY NOT GET A CARD TO ENTER SMACK GATE FOR KABAKA'S BIRTHDAY BUT...

I have tried to request for a card to be able to enter St. Mary's College Kisubi gate for His Highness Kabaka Mutebi's 57th Birthday, however, it is getting to a time when I imagine that there may not be a card for me. However, my works talk volumes for themselves, may be none of the invited guests has as much work on his/her blog in favour of the Mengo establishment as I do have. I am an authority on the History of St. Mary's College Kisubi, and have published this work on my blog. That may be the justice we can expect on planet earth.

It is getting hot at St. Mary’s College Kisubi as work has started erecting the structures which will serve as shelters when His Highness Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Kabaka of Buganda is hosted for his 57th Birthday at SMACK Campus. However, it will not be free entry into the School compound, one is required to have an invitation card. I have been reliably informed that those who will be out of the gate shall see the function from huge screens.

Ziika Forest opposite Kisubi Savio School has 186 birds from 27 different species

Ziika forest is among the smallest central forest reserve that is situated along Entebbe-Kampala highway. The forest is under the management of the communities around with help from UNDP and GEF. It is one of the Grey Parrots breeding sites known in Uganda. A breeding ground for butterflies has also been established at the site. To ease nature walks in the forest, a variety of trails have been established. This has been complimented by construction of the scenery/bird viewing tower. A spell at the Ziika Forest will leave you breathless, a quiet kind of place, home to red tailed and grivet monkeys, lots of trees, butterflies and birds.

The forests at the shores of Lake Victoria had considerable attention from researchers during the 1970s. Ziika forest is one of the many small forest fragments that fringe the northern part of the lake. This 12 ha forest is surrounded by different habitats, giving it the appearance of a terrestrial ‘island’. Birds were first ringed here from September 1970-July 1972. A follow-up was made in 1988–89, during which 186 birds from 27 different species were ringed. Five years later, survival rates were found to be significantly higher than the expected. Some species appeared to survive better than others. There are various assumptions made in estimating survival rates of under storey birds.
