Pity MPs who are parting with money when already overburdened

poor MPs, they have just parted with money for Mengo Kasubi Tombs; then now the victims of bomb blasts. Unfortunately, a good number are not going to make it back to the Parliament given the NRM blunders.

MPs to give sh32m to Sunday blast victims
Thursday, 15th July, 2010
By Joyce Namutebi and Milton Olupot
MEMBERS of Parliament are to contribute sh100,000 each for the victims of the bomb blasts. Currently, there are 328 MPs, which would translate into sh32.8m.
The decision followed a proposal by the deputy Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga.
Kadaga and Speaker Edward Ssekandi are to visit the injured at Mulago Hospital today. A total of 74 people died and many others were injured during the bombings at the Ethiopian Village restaurant in Kabalagala and at Kyadondo Rugby Club, Lugogo.
The Government on Wednesday said it would make a financial contribution of sh5m towards burial expenses for each of the victims and sh3m for medical expenses of each of the injured.
Some MPs proposed that the national prayers be held on other days other than the usual prayer days for the various denominations.
Parliament has also given sh42.5m for reconstructing Kasubi tombs that were gutted by fire last year.
