THE SHS 45BN FOR THE YOUTH MUST BE PROPERLY STUDIED BEFORE IMPLEMENTATION

The unemployment of the youth in Uganda is not a joking matter, and as such policies to address this issue must be handled with the seriousness it deserves. It is very possible for some other parties to be beneficiaries to these funds and not the targeted unemployed youth. There are sharks in Uganda who we have to live with until further notice when there is a genuine change in Government. These will take advantage of any possible opportunity to maximize on it and hence reduce chances of other potential donors. It is clear that Government is committed to implementation of this scheme, and the scheme should be seen to benefit those it should not a handful of well connected people.
The 1st thing to consider is the amount that is accessible. If a number of youth are targeted, it should be that at least a ceiling of about shs 2m is put so that as many youth as possible benefit. All in all, the scheme has to be properly dissected before the youth get hot air.
