What logic in promising all injured shs 3,000,000/-?

Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere
I find the NRM Government surely a Government of tired people. How do you announce payment of an equal amount of money to people with differing degrees of injury? Why not establish a body to determine what to pay depending on damage incurred? Surely, some people may never be able to do what they have been doing. It simply does not make sense to come up with similar figure. Secondly, in a situation where the injured did not have to be taken to a stipulated health unit, how will this be handled? NRM sorry to say is simply a spent force.

The government of Uganda will compensate those that survived the recent bomb blasts in Kampala but were injured as result, with 3 million shillings per person that was injured.
In a statement that has been delivered to Parliament of Uganda, the Minister of Disaster Preparedness, Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere said that the whereas those that suffered injuries as a result of the blasts will get 3 million shillings (about $1,450) , the families of those that died as a result of the blats will be given 5 million shillings (about $2400).
Kabwegere says the money will be delivered directly to the injured people in case of the injured and to the next of kin in case of the dead.
He says that the Uganda ministry of health is working out and compiling the list of the victims of the Kampala Sunday bomb attacks that left at least 76 people dead and more than 50 injured.
Prof. Kabwegyere says the victims will not have to go to go to the ministry to claim for compensation but the ministry will work out a way of delivering the money directly to them in their homes.
