‘MATOOKE’ GROWING AT SMACK IS POSITIVE

A few years ago, I expressed concern that the boys at St. Mary’s College Kisubi did not have ‘matooke’ or Bananas in their menu; this was after my observation in 2006 when the school celebrated 100 years. Thank God, the school administration moved very fast opened a Banana garden very close the Kisubi Police Post and I was told that the matooke diet is normally a weekend thing. The garden looks good, it is only the long dry season that had affected it, but hopefully, with the rains, chances are that it will recover.

May be a number of Old Boys did not know about this development. Busiro is not very good at producing matooke, there is need to give good care to the plantations, the addition of manure, name it to have better harvests.
